The Story Behind Elkay Beauty

Elkay Beauty started long before there was a website, a product line, or even a business name. It started at just seven years old, standing beside my dad at his Farmers Market booth and selling flowers.

I remember the joy I felt creating something with my own hands and then getting to share it with other people. There was something so special about watching someone choose something I had created and knowing that it brought a little bit of beauty into their day.

At the time, I had no idea that those little flower bouquets would be the beginning of something much bigger.

When I was 12, I decided I wanted to create something of my own. My dad and I talked about different ideas, and I was encouraged to try making body butters. So, I started researching.

I taught myself about ingredients, experimented with recipes, bought my own supplies, and spent countless hours creating and testing my products. Then, at just 12 years old, I took my homemade body butters to the Farmers Market and started selling them.

What really stayed with me was when customers started coming back.

People were returning to purchase products they had bought from me before. They were telling me how much they loved them and asking what I was going to make next. That was the moment I realized this could be more than just a little side hobby.

But life changed, and so did my circumstances.

My family eventually moved, and for a period of time I lived with my best friend while figuring out what was next. I got a job as a waitress, and although I was grateful for the opportunity, I quickly realized that I didn’t want to spend my life simply working toward someone else’s dream.

I had always been someone who created things of my own. Whether it was nannying, modeling, or my skincare business, I loved having something I could build, grow, and pour my heart into.

After a couple of months of waitressing, something really hit me.

I had been so blessed with an opportunity and a passion years before to create something of my own. I had a passion for skincare, I loved creating, and I truly felt like God had placed that passion in my heart for a reason.

So I decided to start again.

I began purchasing ingredients in larger quantities, researching facial care formulations, learning more about skincare, and creating products again—this time from my apartment.

Then I went back to the Farmers Market.

I still remember my first day back. I ended up making more that day than I had made during my previous night shift at work.

That moment gave me so much clarity.

I knew I needed to pursue this.

Building Elkay Beauty has been one of the most rewarding and challenging things I’ve ever done. I built my website from the ground up, continued developing new products, researched ingredients and formulations, and spent months working to bring my vision to life.

Eventually, my website went live.

Customers at the Farmers Market continued to grow. I introduced new products, expanded my collections, and eventually reached the point where I was able to rent my own Farmers Market booth.

And now, I’m in a place where I get to work on my skincare business every day.

It’s time-consuming and, at times, stressful, but at the end of the day, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Even through the long days and challenges that come with building a business, it brings me so much happiness. I genuinely love what I do, and I feel incredibly blessed to be able to wake up every day and work toward something that I’m so passionate about.

What started with flowers at seven years old has grown into something I never could have imagined.

I am incredibly thankful for every person who has purchased a product, visited my booth, shared Elkay Beauty with a friend, followed along on social media, or simply encouraged me along the way. Your support and loyalty mean more to me than I can put into words. Every order and every returning customer reminds me why I started.

A special thank you to my dad. Without him, I truly don’t know where I would be. His Farmers Market booth gave me my very first place to create, sell, learn, and dream. He gave me an opportunity before I even understood what that opportunity could become.

My parents have been such a blessing in my life, and I am so grateful for the support, encouragement, and love they have given me throughout this journey.

Most importantly, I am thankful for God for giving me the passion, creativity, and courage to pursue something of my own. I don’t know exactly where this journey will take Elkay Beauty, but I am so excited for what is ahead.

My dream is to continue growing Elkay Beauty, creating products I truly believe in, and helping you find simple, intentional skincare that makes you feel confident in the skin you’re in.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for believing in my dream. And thank you for coming along for the journey.

This is only the beginning. 🤍

With love,
Elkay Beauty
